Arbutus Biopharma, an emerging biopharmaceutical company dedicated to finding a cure for patients suffering from chronic hepatitis B infection, recently opened their new North American R&D Headquarters in Warminster, Pennsylvania. With expanding operations, Arbutus was no longer able to comfortably fit in its previous headquarters at the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center in Doylestown.
JacobsWyper, working closely with design/builder The Norwood Company, completely refreshed the 35,000-square-foot Warminster facility to accommodate new laboratories as well as an open office area, with a layout that maximizes daylight and views to the outside for both lab and office users. With the intent to encourage cross-collaboration between groups to accelerate the R&D process, chemistry and biology labs are arranged in an adjacent, yet separate, scheme that allows scientists to work closely while maintaining necessary procedural separations.
