Experience

Mr. Petito worked for Jacobs/Wyper n the mid-80s and then left to pursue his interest in the renovation and restoration of historic structures. In the intervening years he has worked for several well-known preservation architectural firms including John Milner Associates in Philadelphia, Mesick Cohen Waite Architects in Albany, NY, and as a principal at John G. Waite Associates in Albany.

With his decision to come back to Philadelphia, Rob is also returning to Jacobs/Wyper to pursue his interest in historic architecture. With his extensive experience and expertise, Rob will lead the firm's historic restoration group.

Rob has participated on the following projects:

  • New York State Assembly Chamber, Albany, New York - Master plan and feasibility study for HVAC system replacement, Contract documents and construction phase administrative services for fast track project to construct mechanical equipment platform and new mechanical equipment room within existing and reinforced nineteenth century roof trusses, Contract documents for Assembly Chamber east and west lobby restoration, and conditions assessment report, contract documents, and multi-year phased restoration of leaded stained glass windows in Assembly Chamber.*
  • North Philadelphia Railroad Station, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Existing conditions survey and scope of work recommendations as feasibility study for restoration and adaptive reuse of c. 1902 Beaux Arts style former Pennsylvania Railroad junction and transfer station.*
  • John Wanamaker Building, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Tax Act Part II application for designated significant interior and exterior spaces and elements of 1902-1910 monumental Beaux Arts style commercial building designed by Daniel Burnham. Contract documentation for restoration of exterior stonework, cast-iron window surrounds, and windows.*
  • The Cathedral of All Saints, Albany, New York: Conditions assessment and prioritized recommendations for restoration and rehabilitation of Gothic Revival style cathedral constructed between 1884-1888 and 1902-1904 for the Episcopal Diocese of Albany.*
