Experience

A founder and partner of Jacobs/Wyper Architects since 1981, Mr. Wyper has twenty-four years of experience providing architectural, planning and interior design services. He is Managing Principal of the firm and the principal in charge of corporate and institutional planning and design services.

Reflecting the firm’s ability to provide services for a significant diversity of projects, Mr. Wyper has successfully applied his design skills, problem solving and management experience to numerous projects for which he has been responsible. Among these have been the following recent projects:

  • Hillel Center for Jewish Life at the University of Pennsylvania, a 35,000 SF Jewish student center including the main campus kosher dining facility, religious, academic and social spaces.
  • The Ed Rosen Hillel Center, Temple University, a new 13,500 SF facility.
  • Renovation designs for a 20,000 SF suite of BSL2 and BSL3 containment labs for research and teaching at Temple University, following a major grant from the National Institutes of Health.
  • Planning and design for a new 110,000 SF material control warehouse for Amtrak's high speed engine maintenance program.
  • Master non-lab facilities integration plan for Quest Diagnostics, Inc. following merger with SmithKline Beecham Clinical Labs involving consolidation of 600,000 SF in nine facilities and two states.
  • Primary Data Center for Quest Diagnostics, Inc. A 40,000 SF, $15 million data center and technical command center for the corporation.
  • Programming and design for a new 520 person, 65,000 SF advanced call center for SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories.
  • Design of a new 16,000 SF community center at the Richard Allen Homes for the Philadelphia Housing Authority.
  • Historic restoration and renovation of the former Bonwit Teller Building in Philadelphia for Daffy's, Inc.
  • Expansion of the Tioga Marine Terminal for the Philadelphia Regional Port Corporation.
  • Design of Life Management and Fitness Center at North American Headquarters for GlaxoSmithKline and a new free-standing fitness center at Upper Merion Research Campus.
