Voltaix commissioned Jacobs/Wyper to design a new manufacturing headquarters on a 25-acre site in Portland, Pennsylvania. Along with new administration building, this new high hazard facility consists of a manufacturing facility, exterior tank farms and gas storage pads. As an H-2 occupancy as defined in the International Building Code, the complex planning, design and detailing of this facility and the rigorous scrutiny of local approving agencies made this a long and complex process to reach the construction phase. Start-up of the facility will be mid-2011.
