This project for the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) was recently completed for the new Center for Regenerative Medicine, part of a major University –wide initiative to foster cross disciplinary research in the therapeutic potential of stem cells in the treatment of cancer, diabetes and other major diseases and conditions. Additionally to make way for this project, the School’s Pathology Department and Lab were re-designed at a new location in the Ryan Hospital.
The third floor of the Rosenthal Building has been completely renovated into a modern and regulatory –compliant, open plan, wet bench research laboratory supporting five principal investigators. The main lab will house workstations for 45 laboratory technicians. Five tissue culture labs and five alcoves with bio-safety cabinets and fume hoods are located at the lab perimeter.
A portion of the Old Vet Quad adjacent to the new Center has also been renovated to provide conference and break areas, researcher offices and lockers for the technicians.
