“I had to give the sustainability presentation to a bunch of State Troopers, and I was terrified…”

Sustainability may be an industry buzzword, but it’s also something that is easier said than done right. But spend a few minutes talking to Chris and you’ll find his authentic enthusiasm for the work infectious. Even the State Troopers were impressed, and incorporated the sustainability recommendations into their master plan.

As the sustainability point person for all projects at JacobsWyper, Chris looks for ways in which sustainable design practices can be utilized not only to mitigate environmental impact, but to enhance the specific vision and mission of each project.

"What really interests me about sustainability is how it connects people,” Chris shares, “How great…conversations can be had when people collaborate around common goals that relate to sustainable design…anyone and everyone can participate in the conversation, the process, and the outcome.”

Outside of JacobsWyper, Chris volunteers for Green Building United and sits on the core committee of the Living Future Community. Previously, he was an adjunct professor at Jefferson University, where he taught a class on Sustainable Technologies for Architecture.

Chris is an avid non-fiction reader and podcast listener, and a long time fan of the work of Malcolm Gladwell.
