Jamie Doran

Jamie has spent roughly half her career with JacobsWyper, having joined the firm in August 2010.

“I think I figured out at about age 14 that I wanted to be an architect,” an insight sparked by a family trip to see Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, where she remembers being “…amazed at the way a space can make you feel.” These early ambitions were encouraged by her draftsman grandfather, who passed along his set of drafting tools to her.

Jamie’s architectural career included a diverse range of projects including high-end residential design, healthcare, and gaming, before finding an ideal fit in the technical and team-based work in the design of science and tech facilities.

“My favorite days are when I’m jumping from project site to project site,” seeing the progress firsthand, and working alongside the on-site team to solve problems.

Jamie is co-chair of JacobsWyper’s Science & Tech Design Team, and is an active member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), Green Building United, International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) and International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories.

In her downtime, Jamie loves to cook, unwind with her loved ones and her two dogs, and spend time outdoors. “If there are mountains, that’s where I want to be.”
