Princeton University Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Lab

This project involved modifications in the basement of the Engineering Quad
D-Wing to accommodate an incoming research faculty member in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Research involves the effects of turbulence on surfaces and structures. The 1,000 sf existing space was formerly a student off ice space and was converted to a code-compliant, wet lab with student work and conference areas. The space was handicapped by low ceilings and little infrastructure for lab work; the use of transparent walls overcame what would have been an oppressive space. The room was also designed with flexibility in mind for future reconfiguration
