It seems strange to be defending this space which most of us accept, with the home, as the natural yin-yang of our lives. Offices, as it turns out, in spite of our current predicament, are necessary. They are the site where work is organized, bringing together diverse and essential elements of a work process to produce a good or service. Not all work requires a physical location, but most do, as does ours (architectural design).
Why are they necessary? They are necessary because much of the work we do as human beings is social.
