JWA Raleigh New Office

As a reflection of our values and practice, our new office is a warm, modern workplace rooted in nature and well-being.  The material palette draws inspiration from natural textures and earthy tones—layered woods, soft finishes, and tactile surfaces—carefully balanced with clean lines and contemporary detailing to create an environment that feels both elevated and inviting. This space was designed to empower choice and movement, encourage creativity, and create a workplace experience that supports productivity, inspiration, and team culture.

Health and comfort were central to every design decision. The space is flooded with ample filtered daylight and framed by expansive views of the surrounding trees, reinforcing a constant connection to the outdoors. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls around meeting rooms create transparency throughout the office, fostering a vibrant, connected atmosphere while allowing light to travel deep into space. At the heart of the layout is an open-concept workstation zone, anchored by a thoughtfully designed library area with tall shelving and communal worktables. This open library serves as both a resource hub and a creative workspace that invites casual collaboration and material exploration.

Acoustic comfort was treated as an essential design element. Walls were constructed deck-to-deck with integrated insulation to minimize sound transfer, while specialty felt acoustic ceiling systems absorb noise and introduce a soft, comforting texture overhead. A discreet sound masking system further supports focus and privacy, ensuring the office feels calm and balanced throughout the day. Two focus rooms are adjacent to the open office where team members can plug and play to lead virtual meetings or work on focus tasks to minimize interruptions. Our breakroom and kitchen is visually enclosed creating a place to unwind. A built-in banquette and lounge seating create a warm, casual zone where employees can step away from their desks and enjoy a moment of comfort and connection.

The result is a thoughtfully crafted workplace that supports wellness, collaboration, and creativity—a modern studio grounded in natural warmth, designed to feel as good as it looks.
